Diego is a Blue and Gold Macaw that was being taken care of by Forever Wild.The owners were in the process of buying a new home and needed a place to keep Diego for a month or so. Diego has become a permanent member of Forever Wild when the owners decide he should stay with us. He is a very sweet bird and loves to make people laugh and loves to trash his cage as soon as it is cleaned.When tours come thru he tries to show all the ladies how big he is by puffing out his chest and whistling.

The Blue-and-Yellow Macaw (Ara ararauna), also known as the Blue-and-Gold Macaw, is a member of the group of large Neotropical parrots known as macaws. It breeds in forest  and woodland of tropical South America from Trinidad and Venezuela south to Peru, Brazil, Bolivia, and Paraguay. It extends slightly into Central America, where it is restricted to Panama. It is an endangered species in Trinidad, and is on the verge of being extirpated from Paraguay, but still remains widespread and fairly common in a large part of mainland South America.     wikipedia.org
