In 2007 Forever Wild rescued an abandoned baby cougar who we have given
the name "Nakai". We rescued this little cub in honor of Dr. Elisabeth
McClellan, who dedicated her life to helping animals. Forever Wild
staff would like her family to know that we are very grateful for all
she did to make a such tremendous difference. With more people like Dr.
McClellan, places like Forever Wild wouldn't be needed.
Today Nakai is a powerful 150-lb. male cougar. Like all of our cougars
and leopards as well, they are extremely agile and active. If you are
hiking alone in Cougar Country, the consequences are very real. These
animals are an unbeatable adversary for an unarmed human.
