YaYa Cougar ( Mountain Lion )    Passed away May 23, 2010 of Kidney Disease

Ya Ya, which is a term of endearment in Chinese, was a beautiful 16 year old female cougar. She came from a local permitted owner in 2008. Due to the owners very concerning health problems she had to find a suitable home for her beloved pet.

Ya Ya was one of the positive cases where she was not mistreated in anyway. She was very well taken care of. She adjusted very well to her new home with us at Forever Wild and had bonded with all of the keepers. She always looked forward to her lounging days sitting in the sun taking long naps. She was able to live out her life here without a care in the world knowing that her new home would take the best care of her. She was an absolute joy to have as a part of our family.

YaYa will truly be missed by all of the Staff, Volunteers and visitors that have come to love her. She was a truly magnificent absolutely gorgeous cougar that was very dear and near to our hearts. We will cherish every memory and cougar talk we have had with her.

In her last days after finding out that YaYa had Kidney disease, Joel and Chemaine along with the vets did everything possible to make life as peaceful as they could.  We all hoped she would be able to have a few more years of good life but that was not to be.

YaYa passed away on May 23, 2010.
